About Us

Rev Mark Dunn-Wilson Minister

Mark has been in his current appointment in Truro since 2006. He served as a Superintendent Minister and Deputy Chair of the District, before setting that work aside to focus more on the ministry opportunities relating to the Truro (with Tresillian) Church. Methodism is in his DNA. He is the 4th successive generation of Methodist Ministers, with denominational roots going back to the early days of the movement. Mark is passionate about making the Gospel relevant to people inside and outside of traditional models of Church. He loves to relate Scripture to real-world contemporary issues and finds genuine excitement is discovering the context of the ancient texts from which our application flows.

Mark is married to Janet. They have five adult children, two adult dogs and some wonderful grandchildren.

David Crocker Community Missioner
I’m David Crocker and have been working for TMC for a number of years. I’m a qualified Primary teacher but have always been involved with trying to get the church online and out to a wider community. My main roles are keeping the website up to date, posting on our social media platforms and trying to create meaningful content using photos, videos and animation. I also lead the ‘Gospel Table’ project. After Covid, God began to give us a
sense that we were to become a Church that actively and deliberately
challenged everything that caused division, separation, isolation and injustice in
our community and world and to extend an invitation to every person in their
glorious individuality, diversity and variety. So we have literally built a huge table in the car park where we can meet with people and offer them more.

You will also find me in the band for 9:22 worship which is streamed live every Sunday morning at, you guessed it, 9:22am!

Sue Strawford Pastor
I feel very blessed to be part of the Ministry team here at Truro Methodist Church. As a Pastor I have found it to be a privilege to work with and be a part of our growing Church Family and the Community beyond, sharing God’s love with all. I have enjoyed being involved with wonderful groups, such as The Well (caring for folk’s wellbeing), The Lunch club (sharing fellowship) and the Toddler group (encouraging support). I have always lived in Cornwall and grew up in Truro. I am married, my husband Jan enjoys being a member of the band who play in the 9:22 Worship. We have two wonderful daughters, Abbie and Melodie.

Janet Crocker Pastor

I was first brought along to TMC (St Mary’s as it was then known) when I was 6 weeks’ old.  I have worshipped here ever since!  David and I were married here in 1989 and we brought our children to the Junior Church and youth groups.

Over the years I have served the Church in various way, including leading the Junior Church and working in the church office.

I have been employed by the Methodist Church as Lay Pastor for 10 hours per week since November 2023.  I try to visit and keep in touch with as many members as possible who are no longer able to attend worship due ill health, as well as looking out for anyone who is going through a difficult time.  I am able to administer to Holy Communion to anyone who would like it, and lead a service for the residents of Cathedral View Care Home once every 2 or 3 months.

As this is a part time role, I am very grateful to all our volunteers who help with this very important part of our work.

Karen Potts Administrator
I come from a background of administration having worked for the local council and within both primary and secondary school offices. To be able to join the Ministry team as an administrator at Truro Methodist Church has been a joy and a privilege. I was raised within the church as my father was a Methodist Minister and, along with my husband and three sons, have always been involved within our local chapel in the village of St Agnes which is where we live. As the church develops in new ways to reach out to its immediate community and far further within the country, I am excited to be able to help to support the team in the journey which God has planned for TMC.

Janet Tredrea Family worker
I am one of the longest serving members of TMC team, having been in post for more than 17 years. The time has flown! Days, week and months throughout have been, and continue to be, busy with Toddler groups, our Open the Book team which regularly visits 2 local schools, our once a month flourishing Messy Church and various seasonal special events. I also work in the rest of the Mid Cornwall circuit and am its Safeguarding Officer.
